Going skiing in Italy? Think twice before going off-piste.
The Technical Director of mountain rescue services in the Italian Dolomites has warned that his men will think twice before risking their own necks to rescue ‘reckless tourists’ (see story).
To quote the original article:
Mr Kostner, who is regarded as one of the most experienced rescuers working in the Alps, said the time has come to assess incidents on a “case-by-case” basis, and added said that his men may stop coming to the aid of skiers and climbers who flout warnings.
